Under the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations, these are strictly necessary for features you ask for, so they don’t need consent. Our usage statistics are counted on our own server without cookies, device identifiers or IP addresses.
Affiliate cookies (only if you allow them)
Retailer buttons take you to the retailer’s own website. Links marked with an asterisk (*) are affiliate links: when you click one, the affiliate network handling it (for example Awin) can set a cookie recording that you came from CHEAPERTHANTHEM, so the retailer can pay us a commission if you buy, or a fee for the click. The price you pay is the same either way.
These cookies need your consent, so we ask on pages that have affiliate links. If you don’t allow them, or don’t choose, we tell the network you haven’t consented and it doesn’t set a tracking cookie; the link still takes you to the same page. Links without an asterisk don’t earn us anything and set no affiliate cookies. Your choice lasts 180 days, then we ask again. Awin explains its cookies in its privacy policy.
Controlling cookies
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. If you block ours, the site still works; it just won’t remember your delivery settings. The ICO’s guidance on cookies explains how.
If this changes
If we ever add other optional tools that use cookies, such as analytics, we’ll ask first, and those tools won’t load until you agree. Questions: simon@believex.co. See also our privacy notice.
